A Hughesdale dad is in the running for the best Aussie parent after he declared he would use his $200,000 Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot 1st Prize to take his family to Disneyland.
The Melbourne player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1455, drawn Thursday 24 October 2019.
Sharing his shock with a Tatts official, the winner revealed he initially thought he was being spammed.
“When I saw an email from the Lott telling me I’d won I definitely thought it was just spam,” he explained.
“But I thought I’d better log into my account to double check and that’s when I realised I had won.
“I couldn’t believe it! I’ve never won more than $100 in my whole life.
“I play Lucky Lotteries pretty often but never expected I’d win!
“I can’t wait to tell my wife. I doubt she’ll believe me though!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the loving Dad said he couldn’t wait to spoil his kids.
“I’ll use most of it towards paying off the mortgage, but I also want to do something fun with it too,” he confessed.
“The kids are always asking if we could take them to Disneyland so I think we’ll have to plan a trip to America!”
The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of three random numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $6.93 million for draw 1456 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $5.96 million for draw 10327.
