A hard-working Botany man has burst into hysterical laughter this morning after discovering he won $1 million in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.
The south-eastern Sydney winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3889, drawn Wednesday 24 July 2019, taking home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
As well as wining the coveted division one prize, the thrilled winner’s System 7 marked entry also scored division three 6 times, bolstering his total prize to $1,001,880.40.
When a NSW Lotteries official made contact with him this morning, the winner couldn’t contain his unadulterated joy and burst in hysterical laugher.
“This isn’t a gee up is it? You’re scaring me right now. I can’t breathe! Have I actually won $1 million?” he questioned once he had stopped laughing.
“Thank you so much! I can’t believe I’ve won a million dollars!
“This is the best phone call I’ve ever received in my whole life.
“I’ve always wondered what happens when you win the lotto and now I know.
“I’ve got to call everyone! I can’t wait to tell my family. They aren’t going to believe me.
“I used my family’s birthdates to mark my numbers. Everyone from my sister, to my niece, to my kids and my dad. Everyone!
“They are all going to freak out!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his life as a newly-minted millionaire the thrilled winner confessed he was looking forward to being mortgage free.
“The fact that I am mortgage free now is just unbelievable!” he declared.
“I’ll pay that off the minute it lands in my bank account. I don’t know what I’ll do with the rest. I want to do everything!
“I might take the family on holiday to Greece, I might have a few weeks off work or maybe I’ll go part time.
“I do know that I will tell them from now on don’t give me any extra shifts – I don’t need them anymore!
“It’s the perfect amount of money to keep me comfortable and set my kids up for the future and keep us happy for the rest of our lives!”
The overjoyed man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked System-7 entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3889 on Wednesday 24 July 2019 were 27, 22, 26, 15, 20 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 35 and 6.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3857.
