A young North Melbourne man is planning to head to the United States to see some of his favourite sports teams play, after discovering he won $200,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Victorian man in his 20s won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1295, drawn Monday 1 May 2019.
A Tatts official interrupted his day at work this afternoon to confirm the exciting news.
“I can’t breathe! That is so exciting,” he laughed.
“It’s amazing!
“I just looked on my online account about 10 minutes ago and saw I won.
“I am at work now, but I am not doing much work, I am just chilling. I’m trying to comprehend the news. It just doesn’t feel real.
“I told all the guys at work and I just messaged all my family too.
“Everyone’s so shocked but also really happy for me.”
The Melbourne man said he was excited to celebrate his $200,000 win as soon as he finished work for the day.
“God, I’d love to take the rest of the week off. I want to continue celebrating all week,” he said.
“I want to get all my friends and family together and have a couple of drinks.”
When asked how he planned to use his prize, the young man said it would mean he would be able to buy a house much earlier than he ever thought he would.
“I am going to go on a holiday and buy my first house,” he declared.
“I want to go to the United States and go to some sports games - NFL and ice hockey. I’ll go to heaps of games!
“I never thought I’d be buying a house at this age. It’s definitely changed my plans for the year!”
The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry of three random numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $59.80 million for draw 1296 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $630,000 for draw 10286.
