After winning a cool million dollars in a recent Weekday Windfall draw, a Dingley Village man felt as if he’d just stepped off a rollercoaster - excited, dizzy, and overwhelmed with a ‘weird’ sensation.
The Melburnian held one of the two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4435, drawn Wednesday 28 August 2024 and looks forward to $1 million.
So far in 2024, there have been 20 division one winning entries in Melbourne’s southeast region, collectively taking home more than $24.93 million in prize money.
The seasonal player was unknowingly walking around as a newly-minted millionaire after lottery officials couldn't reach him because his registered contact number was out of service.
“This is a bit of a surprise!” he gasped.
“I feel a bit weird, a bit dizzy.
“I didn’t check the ticket until yesterday and of course it was right before I was about to clock into my late-night shift. I haven’t had much time to process the news.
“I’ve been playing for years and years. You always think about winning but never expect it to actually happen to you.
“I told my wife this morning and she wasn’t too sure if it was even real.
“I think it will take some time until we start to believe the news.
“For now, it feels like a dream.”
His winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Direct Chemist Dingley, 97 Centre Dandenong Road, Dingley Village.
The Direct Chemist Dingley team said they were pleased to have helped a local customer take home $1 million and wished them all the best with their future endeavours.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4435 on Wednesday 28 August 2024 were 7, 12, 43, 8, 32 and 22, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 45.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4435 – one each in Victoria and New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 290 so far in 2024, including 107 won by Tatts customers.
