A Richmond retiree is looking forward to enjoying the finer things life in life after scoring $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw.

The Hawkesbury local held the 1st Prize-winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1679 on Thursday 13 June 2024. He also scored a consolation prize boosting his total win to $202,022.

“That’s incredible! I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed when officials from The Lott confirmed the marvellous win.

“When I first checked my ticket, I nearly passed out.

“I’ve been a regular player for years and have been waiting for the day I would see a win.

“Since then, I’ve been quietly smiling to myself.

“My wife and I are recently retired so this is going to boost our funds to travel and enjoy the finer things in life.”

His winning entry of 10 consecutive numbers was purchased at Springwood Newsagency, 190 Macquarie Street, Springwood.

Springwood Newsagency Manager Lachlan Moss said he was excited to hear that they’d sold a 1st Prize-winning entry worth $200,000.

“The whole team was so excited to hear we’d sold another winning ticket!” he said.

“We’ve already started to celebrate this win in-store with decorations galore to let our customers know that we sold a major prize.

Congratulations to the winning man, and from the whole team, we wish him all the best.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now over $1.2 million for draw 1683, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $2.19 million for draw 10857.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.
