A Berridale man was left in dire need of a lie down, unsure whether he was about to laugh or cry, after discovering the life-changing news that he’d bagged $1.2 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Snowy Mountains resident held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4561, drawn Saturday 5 April 2025. Each division one winning entry can look forward to $1,260,543.17.
When an official from The Lott called to reveal the wondrous news, the hard-working man was in disbelief and struggled to wrap his head around the enormity of his prize.
“No way! Bloody oath!” he cheered.
“That’s just awesome. I think I’m about to faint.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ll be able to pay off the mortgage. Then I can relax a bit and take it easy.
“I’ve been dreaming about this day. I can’t believe it. It’s going to help so much.
“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry! I’m just in shock.
“I’ve been playing for around 10 years or more. I never really win more than $30 or enough for my next ticket, so this is awesome.
“I’ve still got to head to work today, but I’ll definitely be celebrating with family when I can.”
His winning 15-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4561 on 5 April 2025 were 3, 42, 43, 10, 27 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 18.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4561 – one each in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 359 so far in FY25, including 97 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In 2024, Saturday Lotto created 149 millionaires across Australia.
