A Warilla man who joked about throwing away his lottery tickets because he ‘never wins anything’ has been pleasantly surprised with a $100,000 win in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot.

The Shellharbour resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10680, drawn Tuesday, 13 September 2022.

The winning entry was unregistered which means officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the ticketholder to reveal their life-enhancing news and had to wait for them to come forward.

“How fantastic!” he cheered when an official from The Lott confirmed his windfall on Monday.

“I only found out about five minutes ago!

“I went to do the groceries, and I checked my lottery tickets at the local newsagency.

“I couldn’t believe it – I’m blown away.

“You wouldn’t believe that I joked with the team member while buying this winning ticket that I should just throw away my lottery tickets because I don’t win anything anyways.

“I’m so glad I didn’t throw this away!

“It was unregistered too, so if I’d thrown it away, I would’ve never known I’d won!

“Maybe the universe was listening.

“Thank you so much for this winning phone call.”

His winning entry was purchased at Warilla Grove Newsagency, Shop 9B Warilla Grove Shopping Centre, 43-57 Shellharbour Road, Warilla.

Warilla Grove Newsagency manager Jodie Spencer said whilst the team has sold many major lottery prizes over the years, this is their first for Lucky Lotteries.

“We’re really excited to have sold a 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot. It’s amazing knowing we were able to help someone win $100,000,” she said.

“We’ve sold many major lottery prizes over the years, but since managing the store, this is our very first one in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot.
