A humble family man from Goulburn has declared he’s the ‘luckiest person alive’ after discovering he won $200,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The New South Wales player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1230, drawn Friday 22 February 2019. The man’s entry also won a consolation prize of $2,000, boosting his total win to $202,000.
Speaking with a NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm his win, the Goulburn man revealed he was shocked when he discovered his win.
“I was having lunch with my wife and we put the ticket number in together online and discovered we’d won $202,000,” he shared.
“I was shocked when I saw it come up on the screen! I just didn’t believe it.
“We were extremely emotional. There were lots of tears and swear words!
“It’s just wonderful!”
The elated man shared his win would be life-changing for his family.
“I feel as though I’m the luckiest person alive to have the family I have and this just makes life even more amazing. I feel really blessed,” he exclaimed.
“Life takes lots of funny little twists every now and again, and we’ve had plenty of those. But this is a wonderful twist. “I was always hopeful I’d win, but those kind of things never happen to us, but now it has!
“This is going to make life a lot easier. It gives us peace of mind. It’s definitely helped us sleep a lot better.”
The man revealed he knew exactly how he’d spend his windfall.
“We are going to put it away for the future for our family,” he explained.
“We will celebrate when we see the money in our account. I will go away with my wife for a romantic long weekend.”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of three consecutive numbers at Park Newsagency, 196 Auburn Street, Goulburn.
Park Newsagency owner Brian Cady said he was thrilled to have sold a winning 1st Prize winning entry to one of his customers.
“We are really pleased! This is our first major win since we took over,” he said.
“Hopefully we sell more big prizes to our customers soon!
“We are very happy for the customer. I am sure he will enjoy his prize and we wish him all the best for the future.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $44.20 million for draw 1231 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $3.62 million for draw 10274.
