An Inala man has explained the amazing feeling that overwhelmed him knowing he’s now in a position where he can help his family get ahead after winning $1 million in the weekend’s Gold Lotto draw.

The Queensland player held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4101, drawn Saturday 7 November 2020. Each division one winning entry took home a prize of $1,028,920.70.

Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this morning, the man explained he watched his life change before his eyes on Saturday night.

“Woohoo! Go me!” he laughed.

“I was watching the draw on Saturday night on television.

“I was circling the numbers one by one and thought to myself ‘I think I’ve got all six numbers’.

“Then I got my children to double-check the results online for me just to be sure.

“I couldn’t believe it, but I was surprisingly calm. It was an amazing feeling.

“The shock is over, and now the news is starting to sink in! It’s very exciting.

“I’ve been playing for a long time, for decades. I’ve had lots of little wins over the years, but this is obviously the biggest win by far!”

When asked how he imagined his life as a millionaire, the man explained it wouldn’t just be him who would be benefiting from the windfall.

“I’m going to share it with my family,” he said.

“It will be an amazing feeling to be in a position where I can help them out.

“I’ll also be buying myself a new house.

“It will be great!”

The million-dollar winning entry was purchased at Biota Street News, 155 Biota Street, Inala.

Biota Street News owners Wayne and Kerrie Hammett said they were delighted to see the life-changing prize go to a local and regular customer.

“We were so excited when we arrived at the shop on Sunday morning and saw that we had sold a division one winning ticket,” they explained.

“We love it when our customers win any prize, so to sell a division one winning entry and help create a millionaire is amazing! There is so much happiness all around.

“When the customer came in to tell us he had won the prize, he had the biggest grin on his face.

“We’re looking forward to sharing the news with all our customers. It gives the community a real boost. We’re delighted to play a part in spreading the joy.

“We wish our latest division one winner all the best. We know it will make a huge difference to their life and is so well deserved!”
