A Springfield woman is thanking a small win on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket for her $3.3 million Saturday Gold Lotto win in the weekend’s draw.
The Queenslander held one of the 12 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4325, drawn Saturday 31 December 2022. Each division one winning entry pocketed $3,333,333.34.
“It’s funny because we bought some Instant Scratch-Its tickets and I won about $50 on those. I bought this Lotto ticket using that,” the winning woman explained when confirming her win with an official from The Lott.
“It was just a spur-of-the-moment decision to get this ticket because I’d won on the Scratchie.
“I’ve had this ticket sitting in my wallet for about two weeks.
“I checked it at about 1am on New Year’s Day. I was in disbelief. I was so shocked. I was almost having a panic attack – I couldn’t breathe!”
When asked how she might enjoy her new multi-millionaire status, the happy woman shared she had plenty of ideas.
“We’re going to use the prize to help my family and we’re thinking of perhaps buying a new house,” she said.
“And maybe go on a holiday! There’s a few things on the list!”
Her winning entry was purchased at Nextra Orion, Shop 29, Orion Springfield, 1 Main Street, Springfield.
Nextra Orion owner Vivek Ganesh said he was overjoyed his outlet sold another division one winning entry to one of its customers.
“It’s been a great talking point for customers. All the customers were very happy for the winner. Seeing a win land in the outlet makes it all so real.
“During the past nine years, we’ve sold four top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its tickets and this is our third division one winning Gold Lotto entry. It’s great to have another one.
“Everyone at Nextra Orion wishes our latest big winner all the best and a happy new year!”
