A Cowra woman has been moved to tears after a ticket she “left to fate” delivered a magical $740,000 windfall in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Central West resident held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4643, drawn Saturday 17 January 2026. Each division one winning entry scored $741,935.70.
When an official from The Lott called the winner this morning, she hadn’t yet checked her ticket and was left completely stunned by the thrilling news.
“Did I really just win $740,000?” she cried.
“Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Thank you so much. This is fantastic.
“This means everything to me. I had no idea.
“I hadn’t played for about a month, so it was just a random decision. I always get a QuickPick. If it’s fate, it’s going to happen. I guess it was meant to be!
“I’ve only ever rented, but now I can finally buy a house. I can’t believe it.
“It’s so funny because you always dream of this moment, and you talk to your friends and co-workers and say, ‘Can you imagine winning?’ and you talk about what you would do if you won.
“Gosh, my mind is blank now. I need to call my family and tell them.
“This had made my whole week!”
Her winning 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4643 on 17 January 2026 were 38, 8, 35, 19, 44 and 9, while the supplementary numbers were 23 and 33.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4643 – three each in Victoria and Western Australia, two in Queensland, and one in New South Wales.
