A Melton couple’s very first lottery ticket has delivered a game-changing $1.28 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw, giving them the boost they needed to get out of a rough trot.
The Melburnians held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4553, drawn Saturday 8 March 2025. Each entry scooped $1,262,948.41.
When an official from The Lott called the pair earlier this morning, they erupted into cheers and screams, barely able to believe their first-ever ticket had delivered such an incredible win.
“Are you serious?!” the winning husband exclaimed.
“Is this true? $1.26 million! Oh my god!
“Jesus Christ! I can’t believe it! I’ve never done this before. This is my very first-time playing lotteries; very first time!
“Someone told me to try my luck at lotteries, and I thought ‘why not!’.
“We’ve been going through a tough time with our business, and it’s been incredibly difficult not to sell. But oh my god, this win is an absolute godsend!
“I think I’m dreaming. I think I’ve just woken up in a dream.
“Thank you so much. We’re so grateful.”
The duo’s winning 25-game QuickPick was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4553 on 8 March 2025 were 28, 18, 38, 2, 16 and 29, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 4.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4553 – three in Victoria and one in Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 332 so far in FY25, including 123 won by Tatts customers.
