A Darra man was on his way to the doctor when he received a phone call from lottery officials delivering the best prescription of all – a $1.25 million win in the weekend’s Gold Lotto draw.
The Brisbane resident held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4567, drawn Saturday 26 April 2025 and looks forward to $1,259,119.90. It’s the first major lottery win to land in the Brisbane Southern Suburbs for 2025.
“Thank you very much!” he laughed alongside his wife when an official from The Lott revealed his newfound fortune.
“You’re currently on speakerphone with my wife. We’re shell-shocked. We can’t believe it.
“We’re actually on our way to the doctor’s now, and then we’ll be making a stop into the head office to claim our $1.25 million, which is crazy to say.
“I have a ritual on Sunday morning where I visit the local newsagency to pick up my copy of the paper and a lottery ticket into Saturday Gold Lotto. I’ve been doing this for about 15 years now!
“We will have to celebrate once we calm down from the excitement.”
The cheerful Queenslander said the prize would make retirement much easier.
“We’re retirees and we don’t have much super, so this will really help us!” he shared.
“Thank you!”
His winning System entry was purchased at Lucky Monier News & Florist, SP003 Monier Village Shopping Centre, 166 Monier Road, Darra.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4567 on 26 April 2025 were 38, 42, 32, 1, 21 and 7, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 13.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4567 – two in Queensland and one each in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.
