A routine visit to the doctor’s surgery took an exhilarating turn for a Stirling man after he found out he’d won $200,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries draw.
The Canberra resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1691, drawn Friday 22 November 2024. He looks forward to a total prize of $200,000.
When officials from The Lott confirmed his prize straight after the draw, the stunned man admitted that it no longer mattered what his doctor had to say — his day had just turned to gold.
“Wowie! Oh, my lord!” he cheered.
“I’m just on the way to the doctors right now, so this is totally unexpected.
“I couldn't care less what the doctor has to say now – today just got amazing!
“I’m going to be walking around all day doing a quiet dance to myself thinking, ‘I just won $200,000 dollars!’.
“It’s wonderful news.”
With $200,000 soon to boost his bank account, the winning man had a few ideas on how he’d use his newfound treasure, starting with shouting his friend’s lunch.
“I’m going out to lunch with some friends today, so I might just shout everyone lunch,” he shared.
“I’ll also share some with my kids and look to book an overseas holiday.”
The winning man’s entry of one random number was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $3.4 million for draw 1692, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $7.1 million for draw 10895.
In FY24, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $53.4 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
