“I’m at work today and it’s been a struggle to stay focused in my meetings,” he said when an official from The Lott called to confirm the thrilling news.

“It’s really still sinking in!

“I first asked my wife if I was looking at a win of $1,600 or $16,000. That’s when she confirmed I was in fact looking at $1.6 million!

“I didn’t sleep at all. I spent the whole night awake, questioning whether it was real or if I was dreaming.

“Things have been tough lately, and this will just help immensely.”

With a $1.6 million boost heading his way, the kind-hearted man shared he couldn’t wait to set up his children with their on house deposits.

“I’ll definitely help the kids out,” he said.

“I can help set them up with a house deposit. Then I’ll put the rest aside.”

His winning entry was purchased at Centreway News & Lotto, 59 Wyong Street, Keilor East.

Centreway News & Lotto owner Anj Bahl said she was shocked to hear her outlet had sold its first ever division one winning entry since taking over ownership.

“I was having morning tea when I read the email that our outlet had sold a division one winning entry, and I couldn’t stop reading it over and over again!” she laughed.

“We are so very happy and excited for our winning customer and hope it’s one of our regulars.

“We took over the business in August 2023, and this is our first time we’ve sold a division one ticket. I don’t have enough words to explain how happy, excited, and grateful we are.

“We have a great customer base, most of them are regulars and absolutely beautiful people, they will be very happy to celebrate with us as they call me Lady Luck.

“There is a bit of history about Centreway Shopping Centre as JB Hi Fi first started here. We always talk about putting Centreway back on news and this feels like we’ve achieved it.

“We are family-owned outlet and keep trying to manifest our customers’ dreams. A huge congratulations to our winning person!”
