A Kilkenny player has sprung into spring with a lush $1.5 million boost after scoring a Spot 10 prize in a recent Keno draw.
The South Australian shopper scored the $1,591,419.80 Keno Spot 10 jackpot in draw 230901 614, drawn 1 September 2023.
However, how the winner plans to spend their windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning entry was purchased at Lotteries Kiosk Arndale, Kiosk 3 / Central Mall Centro Arndale, Torrens Road, Kilkenny.
Lotteries Kiosk Arndale owner Tia Pham said she was absolutely thrilled for the mystery winner and couldn't believe the Spot 10 had gone off in her outlet.
“We were both elated and shocked when we realised the Spot 10 had been won at our outlet! It’s created such great excitement and buzz amongst our customers ever since,” she said.
“We were busy at the time the win had gone off and we noticed the Spot 10 memo had quickly flashed on the Keno screen. We had to take a minute to absorb what had just happened!
“There were quite a few people around our Kiosk playing Spot 10 at the time and we told them it had just been won so they all started frantically checking their tickets, but the winner was not in the store.
“We have sold many division one winning entries consistently over the years and have a long-standing reputation as being considered one of the "luckiest" Kiosks.
“We have many customers who travel from all over South Australia and regional SA to regularly buy tickets from us! We hope to keep the winning streak alive for many years to come.
“We would like to offer a huge congratulations to our Spot 10 Keno winner and wish them all the very best. We hope they get to enjoy their celebrations and the feeling of being a major prize winner.”
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she was sure the region’s latest Spot 10 winner was busy arranging exciting plans for years to come.
“This mystery Keno Spot 10 winner would’ve received their $1.5 million boost this morning after waiting for the two-week provisional period to pass – what a wonderful way to start the new week!” she said.
“While we may never know how the winner plans to enjoy their prize, we have no doubt they’re walking around grinning from ear to ear after discovering their newfound fortune.
“Other winners often share stories of using their division one winnings to support loved ones, pay off their mortgages, upgrade their homes and cars, or even indulge on a luxurious holiday.
“However our elusive winner chooses to use their million-dollar windfall, we hope they embrace that winning feeling for as long as they can.”
In FY23, there were more than 5.8 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $101.88 million. This included 45 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $8.11 million.
The Spot 10 prize was won three times during this period, with the biggest being a $2.3 million prize won on a ticket from Lonsdale Hotel.
