A Kings Meadows man’s cherished Sunday ritual of sipping coffee and checking his TattsLotto ticket has brewed up a sweet $255,000 surprise.

The Tasmanian held one of the 20 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4565, drawn Saturday 19 April 2025. He looks forward to a total prize of $255,096.86.

The retiree was one of the two Apple Isle winners to score a division one prize over the weekend, with a mum from Beauty Point also receiving a delightful Easter surprise.

Tasmania is on a winning streak in 2025, with six major lottery wins landing in the state that have collectively taken home more than $1.7 million in prize money.

The winning Kings Meadows entry wasn’t registered to The Lott Members Club, so officials from The Lott had been waiting for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward.

“Thanks mate! It’s pretty exciting!” he laughed when an official from The Lott confirmed his win.

“I like the excitement of checking my lottery tickets over a coffee on Sunday morning. I discovered it on the weekend, and I’ve just been sitting on it ever since!

“I’ve only ever won the odd prize here and there. Never anything substantial until now!

“I have a health problem that keeps me busy, so this will really help.

“My partner and I are going to be conversative with the prize. I’m retired, and she’s semi-retired, so we’ll look to put the prize towards our retirement fund.

“My car is an old bomb, so no doubt I’ll be upgrading that too!

“I’m sure we will treat ourselves to a holiday as well.

“Thank you for making my day!”

His winning entry was purchased at Kings Meadows News & Lotto, 116 Hobart Road, Kings Meadow.

Kings Meadows News and Lotto owner Sourav Kumar said he was ecstatic to have sold his first division one winning entry since taking over ownership four months ago.

“I am very excited! This is our first major lottery win since we took over the business. It’s been four months, and we’ve already sold a division one winning entry!” he said.

“Kings Meadows News and Lotto has sold around 25 major lottery wins in the last 25 years – that’s on average one a year!

“We can’t wait to hopefully make more dreams come true and continue gracing locals with major lottery wins. There’s no doubt this will be the start to a winning streak for us.

“Congratulations to the winning man and we wish him all the very best with his future endeavours.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4565 on 19 April 2025 were 28, 10, 44, 21, 19 and 14, while the supplementary numbers were 33 and 23.

Across Australia, there were 20 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4565 – six in Queensland, five in Victoria, two each in New South Wales, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia and one in the Northern Territory.
