A Kooralbyn woman couldn’t come to terms with the magnitude of her million-dollar win in a recent Weekday Windfall draw, leaving her in tears while on the phone with lottery officials this morning.
The Scenic Rim resident held the only division one winning entry in Weekday Windfall draw 4394, drawn Friday 24 May 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $1 million.
From Monday 20 May 2024, Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto changed to a single lottery game called Weekday Windfall across Australia (excluding WA) that has draws on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. The Queenslander was the first division one winner for the new Friday draw.
The seasoned player wasted no time answering the winning phone call this morning while out in her backyard with her beloved dogs.
“Oh my god! Oh my god!” she joyfully gasped.
“Are you serious? I’ve won $1 million? Oh my god. Thank you so much. I can’t believe it. I’m just speechless.
“This is just amazing. It’s so beautiful. We really need the boost and I’m so grateful.
“I was in the middle of telling my dogs to calm down because they always go off when someone arrives and then I received your phone call!
“When I answered I thought that you were calling me to tell me something was wrong with my account. Never in a million years did I expect to answer the phone and be told I won $1 million!
“I can’t wait to tell my sisters. I’m going to keep it quiet, but she’ll be one of the only people I tell.
“This has come at the most perfect time, such fabulous news.”
With her bank account to blossom by $1 million in the coming weeks, the chirpy woman shared some initial thoughts for her prize.
“I’ll look to buy a little house and pay off some bills!” she revealed.
“I’ll absolutely spoil my dogs too. Maybe I’ll have to get some gourmet treats for them today!
“I’ll have to hold back the tears today.
“Thank you for this beautiful phone call.”
Her winning 5-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4394 on Friday 24 May 2024 were 2, 36, 10, 9, 7 and 25, while the supplementary numbers were 32 and 3.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Weekday Windfall draw 4394 – one in Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 373 so far in FY24, including 88 won by Golden Casket customers.
