A hardworking Lake Macquarie dad is ready to cut back time on the tools after winning more than half a million dollars in Saturday’s Lotto draw.
The New South Wales man held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3911, drawn Saturday 12 January 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $544,506.45.
Confirming his win with a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the man revealed how he discovered his good fortune.
“I went to the newsagency on Sunday to check my tickets and they couldn’t tell me how much I had won,” he explained.
“So I went home and looked up the winning numbers and went through them one by one.
“I thought, ‘I’ve got that one, I’ve got that one’ and then I kept going through the winning numbers and realised I had them all!
“I had to check them two or three times to be sure.
“I couldn’t believe it!”
The man revealed he had only been playing Saturday Lotto for a couple of years and couldn’t believe his marked numbers had already won him division one.
“I’ve been using the same numbers for a while now. They aren’t chosen based on anything in particular, but I guess I’ve already discovered the winning combination!” he exclaimed.
“I feel absolutely amazing.”
Despite having a couple of days to think of how he will use his windfall, the thrilled winner said he wasn’t completely certain, but one thing was for sure.
“I’ll be cutting back my hours at work, I can be certain about that,” he revealed.
“I’m looking forward to semi-retiring.
“Today has been a lot easier at work, knowing I may not have to keep working as hard!”
The winning entry was purchased at Nextra Glendale, Shop 33, Stockland Centre, 387 Lake Road, Glendale.
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3911 on Saturday 12 January 2019 were 45, 5, 15, 11, 23, and 35, while the supplementary numbers were 43 and 17.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3911, including three in Victoria and two each in New South Wales and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 205 so far this financial year, including 61 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 280 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $306.19 million.
