Five days after the winning numbers were drawn, a Lake Macquarie shopper has made the startling discovery they won division one in last week’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

The Lake Macquarie entry was one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3811 on Wednesday 24 October 2018. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $800,000.

As the entry was unregistered, NSW Lotteries officials had no way to contact the winning ticketholder with the dream-come-true news. However this morning the winning entry was presented to collect the Lotto windfall.

Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official, the winner explained they still couldn’t believe their good fortune and would only believe their win was true when they saw their bank balance balloon by $800,000.

While some celebrations are no doubt planned, they remained tight lipped on how they might spend their prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Priceline Pharmacy Toronto, Shop 14, Toronto Town Square, 63 The Boulevard, Toronto.

Priceline Pharmacy Toronto team member Bridget Gerdsen said last week’s win was the second major lottery prize to land in the outlet during its two-year history.

“It’s been very exciting to have another division one win and it’s created a real buzz in our store,” she said.

“We had another smaller division one win earlier this year, but this is definitely the highest to date.

“Each time we sell a division one winning ticket the prize gets higher and higher.  Maybe we’ll see a $40 million Powerball division one winning entry this week!”

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Matt Hart said Lotto division one winners often shared their winnings with those special people at the top of their Lotto List.

“Whether it’s family or friends, almost every Lotto player has a list of people that they can’t wait to share their windfall with,” he said.

“While some winners help their family members with house deposits, others take their friends on overseas holidays or even shout them a new car.

“While we don’t know how our winner plans to spend their prize, our Toronto winner is no doubt looking forward to having the prize in their hands.”

Mr Hart also reminded players of the importance of registering their entry to a Players Club card.

“It is really important that you register your entries to a Players Club card – this means your prize is secure and we can contact you directly with the good news in the case of a win,” he said.

So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 146 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3811 on Wednesday 24 October 2018 were 6, 24, 12, 22, 11 and 5, while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 28.

Across Australia there were five division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3811 – three in New South Wales and one each in Queensland and Victoria.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 325 so far this calendar year, including 88 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

Last financial year, there were 73 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won $73 million.
