A Nundah dad is thanking his intuition for prompting him to purchase a second last minute entry into Saturday night’s Gold Lotto draw, a spur of the moment decision that won him division one.
The entry was one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3923, drawn Saturday 23 February 2019. Each entry won a division one prize of $672,193.57.
Confirming his win with a Golden Casket official this morning, the Brisbane man revealed how he came to make the life-changing purchase into Saturday night’s draw.
“I buy a Super QuickPick every week, I already had my Super QuickPick for Saturday night,” he explained.
“And then I was shopping on Saturday afternoon at Nundah and thought for some reason I’ll buy another Super QuickPick, I never buy two.
“And bam, there you go! That was the winning division one entry.
“I checked both entries yesterday morning. The second ticket was scanned and the woman in the newsagency told me she couldn’t pay out the prize.
“I knew they’d sold a division one winning entry into Saturday night’s draw so we checked my numbers and sure enough, it was me!
“I couldn’t believe it. We had to recheck the numbers five times just to be sure!
“It’s just so hard to believe!”
The regular Saturday Gold Lotto player said he had already planned how he’d spend his unexpected and life-changing windfall.
“Oh man, it really couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said.
“It’s just unbelievable.
“I’m going to pay off my mortgage and use the rest of my prize wisely.
“I love to travel, so I am going to do plenty more of that!”
The winning 18-game Quickpick was sold at Supanews Nundah, Shop 9, Nundah Village, 1193 Sandgate Road, Nundah.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3923 on Saturday 23 February 2019 were 37, 13, 19, 21, 25 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 33 and 27.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3923, including four in Queensland and one each in Victoria and Western Australia.
