More than four weeks after the draw, a Leppington man has today come forward to claim his $1 million win, explaining he’d popped his Lotto ticket in a drawer and forgotten about it.
There were six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4215, drawn Saturday 11 December 2021. Each entry took home a division one prize worth $1,012,907.10.
“I had absolutely no idea! I’d seen the signs about a mystery winner, but I didn’t think anything of it,” the winning man explained when speaking with an official from The Lott.
“When I finally went to check some old lottery tickets that I had stored away in a drawer, I found out about this win.
“When the employee scanned my ticket, he bent over the table and whispered to me, ‘You’ve won the big one!’.
“I was pretty calm about it, but I was with my family, and they were jumping up and down excitedly. I think they were more excited than me!
“I’m feeling as cool as a cucumber, to be honest. This prize has really taken away any financial pressures I had.
“It’s amazing!
“I’ve wanted to win division one for so long. I’ve dreamt about that moment for years and years.
“This win has made me realise dreams really do come true!
“I’m going to use my prize to buy myself a home and set myself up for the future.”
The winning entry was purchased at Leppington Newsagency, Shop 6, 1469 Camden Valley Way Leppington.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4215 on 11 December 2021 were 39, 27, 37, 35, 12 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 2.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4215 – two in Victoria, two in Western Australia, one in New South Wales and one in Queensland.
