With less than three months left for Echuca’s mystery $4.8 million Set for Life winner to claim their prize directly, The Lott officials are once again urging players to check their tickets before time runs out.

The mystery winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 1996, drawn Friday 22 January 2021. They take home the prize of $4.8 million, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.

However, the winning entry is unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news. Instead, they’re waiting for the ticketholder to come forward to claim their prize.

With time running out, The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said  she was more  eager than ever to unite the player with their prize.

“It’s been more than three months since the prize was won and we still don’t know who the winner is or where they could be,” Ms Ramsamy said.

“What we do know is that they have less than three months left to claim their prize directly from us! Time is running out.

“Think of all the possibilities ahead for the elusive winner with a prize of $20,000 a month for twenty years coming their way!

“Imagine if that ticket is sitting in plain sight, going unchecked because the winner couldn’t fathom that it could possibly be them.

“We’re once again encouraging all players who purchased a Set for Life entry from Echuca Square Lotto to check their tickets as soon as possible!

“If you discover you’re holding that prize, make sure you hold on tight to it and call us on 131 868 to start the prize claim process.”

In Victoria, division one winners have six months to claim their prize directly from The Lott. After this time, the prize can be claimed indefinitely from the Victorian State Revenue Office.

Players are reminded of the importance of registering their tickets to a player card or online account so all of their prizes are secure and they can be contacted directly with the good news of a big win.

The Lott is urging anyone who purchased an unregistered Set for Life entry from Echuca Square Lotto, 26 Nish Street, Echuca, to check their ticket as soon as possible.

Echuca Square Lotto co-owner Gavin Sullivan said he was still on the hunt for his mystery winner.

“We have been encouraging all of our players to check their Set for Life tickets, hoping one of them is our mystery winner,” he said.

“It’s such an amazing prize and we can imagine it would make a great deal of difference to our winner’s life.

“Hopefully they discover this news soon! It’s certainly not a prize you’d want to miss out on.”
