A Greenvale woman was left hyperventilating after her first ever ticket in Set for Life landed her $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
The hard-working Melburnian held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 3303, drawn Tuesday 21 August 2024.
She can look forward to a total division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
The victorious Victorian confessed she’d normally check her tickets the morning after a draw but had completely forgotten today, leaving her in complete shock when officials from The Lott caught her by surprise with the life-changing phone call.
“Did I really win that? Oh my god!” she screamed.
“This will change my life completely. Oh my god. I can’t believe this.
“I can retire! I can leave my job!
“I’ve got tears in my eyes. I can’t see anything.
“It’s crazy because I don’t normally play Set for Life. I normally play Powerball each week, and then, in the most recent draw, I got a small win, so I used it to buy this Set for Life ticket.
“I can’t wait to call my husband and kids. I think they’ll scream, and my husband will be the same as me, he’ll say, ‘Let’s quit!’.
“We’re at retirement age so it’s come at a perfect time.
“I’m going to take my whole family on an overseas holiday!
“If you were here, I would give you a big hug!”
The winning 5-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 3303 on Wednesday 21 August 2024 were 29, 37, 22, 41, 11, 25, 16, while the supplementary numbers were 10 and 9.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 3303 – one in Victoria.
This marks the 131st Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the ninth Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 273 so far in FY24, including 101 won by Tatts customers.
In 2023, there were 18 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who will receive $86.4 million during the next 20 years.
By 31 December 2023, more than $116.18 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 125 Set for Life division one winners across Australia.
