After receiving the news they’d won a $4.8 million Set for Life prize, a Lilydale couple has decided to “chucked a sickie” so they can visit the dream property they now intend to buy.
The Melburnians held the only division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2190, drawn Wednesday 4 August 2021. They take home the division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.
When an official from The Lott called the Victorians this morning, they were getting ready for a busy day and completely oblivious they had become Set for Life.
“Oh my gosh, we were just about to head out for work,” the winning woman giggled.
“I haven’t even got myself a coffee or had breakfast yet.
“Are you serious? Are you actually serious?
“This isn’t a prank call, is it? Holy sh**!
“Oh my god! Oh my god! I am crying! I am crying!
“I am so sorry. I can’t stop crying. This is amazing.
“You have no idea what this means to us. It’s awesome!
“It’s absolutely life-changing. You are amazing, thank you!
“Oh god, this is the best!
“This is insane. I already feel so spoilt in life and now this! Well, this is just incredible.”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their windfall, the overjoyed pair didn’t hesitate.
“We actually have been dreaming of this moment, so we do have a few ideas,” she continued.
“We have been eyeing off this property for so long, and now it means we can actually buy it! It’s in the most beautiful spot and it’s been our dream for years, so that’s definitely the first thing we will do.
“Maybe we will go out for a drive today and take a look at it again!
“We will help our kids as well and go on a few little trips.
“This means so much! We will make sure we are sensible with the rest though. We want to see it grow for our family.”
The duo’s winning 2-game QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 2190 on Wednesday 4 August 2021 were 17, 33, 4, 14, 23, 28 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 43 and 2.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2190 – the entry from Victoria.
This marks the 81st Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the 11th Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 272 so far this calendar year, including 105 won by Tatts customers.
In 2020, there were 16 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who will receive $76.8 million during the next 20 years.
By the end of 2020, $44.88 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 70 Set for Life division one winners across Australia.
