A Lockyer man has put pedal to the metal all the way to a million-dollar Weekday Windfall win after choosing numbers inspired by his beloved car models.
The South East Queensland resident held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4539, drawn Monday 28 April 2025, and takes home a neat $1 million.
So far in 2025, there have been seven major lottery wins in the Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and Somerset region that have collectively taken home more than $29.47 million in prize money.
The jubilant man was going about his morning when he received the surprise of a lifetime from a lottery official revealing his newly-crowned millionaire status.
“Far out! You’re joking!” he exclaimed.
“Oh, you’re kidding. I had no idea.
“It doesn’t feel real. I’m pretty shocked; overwhelmed.
“This is amazing. Can you repeat how much I’ve won? I want to hear it again!
“This is a phone call I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
“I’ve been playing the same numbers for years. I’m a bit of a car enthusiast and they consist of the year model of my cars.
“I’m not going to tell anyone for now. I’ll sit on it and then tell family when the time is right.
“I was about to go work on one of my cars, but my day has taken a complete turn. I don’t think I’ll be able to concentrate.”
With a million-dollar boost about to hit his bank account, the cheery retiree said the win would be a huge help for his retirement and would allow him to finish some much-needed repairs on his cars.
“I’m retired, so this will really help me out,” he exclaimed.
“You wouldn’t believe it. Only last week, something in my house completely broke, and I was wondering how I would fix it.
“You’ve made my day – actually, you’ve made more than my day. You’ve made my life!”
His winning marked 4-game QuickPick was purchased at The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
