Screams of delight woke up the residents of a Logan house yesterday morning, when a local man checked his Saturday Gold Lotto entry and discovered he was one of the weekend’s division one winners.
The Queenslander held one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4173, drawn Saturday 17 July 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $999,822.93.
Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the man explained he was still in disbelief after this Sunday morning discovery.
“Thank you very much!” he laughed.
“I checked my ticket yesterday morning. It still hasn’t sunk in.
“I woke everyone up in the house. I was screaming. I was so happy, but I didn’t really believe it.
“I never thought something like this could happen to me.
“After playing for quite a long time, it’s just amazing!”
With a division one lottery fortune about to hit his bank account, the Logan man said he still showed up to work today.
“I am going to keep working,” he said.
“I’m not ready to retire just yet, but I will definitely buy myself a new car and maybe even a house!”
The life-changing entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4173 on 17 July 2021 were 30, 14, 38, 32, 2 and 35, while the supplementary numbers were 45 and 10.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4173 – three from Western Australia, and one each from New South Wales, Queensland, and Tasmania.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 243 so far this calendar year, including 64 won by Golden Casket customers.
