Two long-term friends from Carlingford have started celebrating after this morning’s revelation their entry scored the million-dollar division one prize in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The private syndicate was one of the three division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3796 on Monday 3 September 2018. Each entry takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
In addition to winning division one, the marked System 8 entry also won division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering the friends’ total prize to $1,004,898.55.
The syndicate leader was oblivious to the good news until a NSW Lotteries official made contact with her this morning.
“Oh my God!” she exclaimed.
“I feel a bit faint actually. This is amazing. Absolutely amazing.
“My girlfriend and I have been playing the same numbers for 30 years. We worked together for many years and when we first started we picked a few numbers each.
“This is truly amazing. I’m in a state of shock. What is more amazing is that I always check my numbers on a Monday night but for some reason I didn’t last night.”
The syndicate leader said she couldn’t wait to break the news to her friend so they could both start planning how they would use their shares of the Lotto windfall.
“I don’t know what I’ll do. It’s been an awful couple of months so hopefully this is a sign of good things to come,” she said.
“You’ve made my day in a big way!”
The two friends, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their marked System 8 entry at Carlingford North Newsagency & Lotto, Shop 3, 500 North Rocks Road, Carlingford.
Owner of Carlingford North Newsagency & Lotto Dipti Desai said she was thrilled to have sold the outlet’s first division one winning entry.
“It’s so so good! We are excited. Very excited!” she exclaimed.
“We opened the store in 2015 and haven’t had a winner yet so we are thrilled.
“We just hope we have more wins to follow for our customers!”
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 131 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3796 on Monday 3 September 2018 were 6, 17, 11, 33, 28 and 5, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 37.
Across Australia there were three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3796 – one each from Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 378 so far this calendar year, including 73 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Last financial year, there were 82 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $80 million.
