A Mackay retiree is ready to treat himself to some serious wrist bling, admitting he will use some of his $500,000 win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw to splurge on a fancy watch.
The North Queenslander held one of the 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4507, drawn Saturday 28 September 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $518,364.63.
“Oh! Oh!” he exclaimed when an official from The Lott confirmed his win.
“Thank you very much. It’s all a bit overwhelming.
“I’ve been waiting for you to call since I checked the ticket yesterday afternoon. Initially, I thought I only had four numbers, but then I saw all six.
“I’m in my 80s now, and I’ve been playing for years and years.
“It’s all a bit of a blur!”
The cheerful man, excited to treat himself to a brand-new Swiss watch, also expressed his eagerness to renovate his caravan for traveling around Australia.
“I’ll probably celebrate by doing up my caravan and I’ll buy myself a new watch,” he said.
“I’ve always wanted a Tag Heuer watch!
“Can’t wait.”
His marked 18-game entry was purchased at South Mackay News, 152 Evans Street, Mackay South.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4507 on 28 September 2024 were 34, 40, 29, 15, 19 and 37, while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 44.
Across Australia, there were 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4507 – four each in Queensland and Victoria, and two in Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 336 so far in 2024, including 72 won by Golden Casket customers.
