A merry band of 12 TattsLotto players across Melbourne have found the perfect way to beat the Monday blues after their syndicate, the aptly Magical Monday, scored a million-dollar division one prize.
The group syndicate held one of the three division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4220 on Monday 26 September 2022.
In addition to winning a $1 million division one prize, the syndicate’s marked System 12 entry also won division two 6 times, division three 30 times, division four 225 times and division five 200 times – bolstering the group’s total windfall to $1,034,471.90.
Each of the 12 syndicate members has won a share worth $86,260.77. However, some ticketholders may have yet to discover their good fortune.
The winning syndicate was established by Southvale Newsagency, 565 Springvale Road, Springvale South.
Entries into the winning syndicate were also sold at five other Tatts outlets across Melbourne, including:

- Waverley Gardens Lotto, Mulgrave
- Noble Park News & Tatts, Noble Park
- Elsternwick News & Lotto, Elsternwick

Southvale Newsagency owner Samuel Zeng said the team was thrilled to have sold another division one winning entry in less than 12 months.
“It’s a very exciting experience! I took over the business less than a year ago, and we’ve already sold two division one winning entries,” he said.
“This syndicate named Magical Monday has been running for more than two years and is a weekly syndicate for Monday and Wednesday.
“We will be sharing the winning news with all of our customers and hopefully come across some syndicate members that aren’t aware of the winning news!”
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said some syndicate members held unregistered entries and might have yet to discover their gleeful winning news.
“This Melbourne syndicate scored one of the three million-dollar prizes to land in Victoria from the last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw,” she said.
“It’s fair to say these syndicate members have had a great start to their week by pocketing more than $80,000 each!
“While we’ll be reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their entries, there are many who have unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group.
