A Maitland woman is looking forward to spoiling her grandchildren after their birthdates inspired the winning entry that scored her a division one prize of over $415,000 in the weekend’s X Lotto draw.

The happy winner held one of the 12 division one winning entries nationally in X Lotto draw 4051, drawn Saturday 16 May 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $410,606.71.

As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the thrilled winner’s marked System 7 entry also scored division three 6 times, bolstering her total prize to $415,153.81.

Officials from the Lott had been searching for the winner since the draw as while her entry was registered to an Easiplay Club card, her contact details were out of date.

Sharing her shock with an official from the Lott this afternoon, the winner confessed she was overwhelmed by the revelation.

“I’m still really overwhelmed! It hasn’t sunk in yet!” she exclaimed.

“I got an email reminding me to check my tickets, so I scanned my ticket on the app and I realised I had won.

“I couldn’t believe it. I went into the store to double-check and they confirmed I had won.

“I play the same numbers every week and have been playing these for years.

“I’ve got five grandchildren and it’s all of their birthdays, and the last one is my birthdate.

“I don’t think they’ll believe me when I tell them!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her win, the generous grandmother said she would treat each of her grandkids as well as herself.

“I don’t know what I’ll do with it all, but I’ll definitely be giving some to my grandkids,” she revealed.

“I also think it might be time to upgrade our caravan.

“I’ve got a bottle of wine at home, so I think I’ll put that on ice and celebrate the win tonight!”

Maitland Newsagency owner Terrance Roos said he was thrilled his winner had been united with her prize.

“Everyone who has been coming in today to check their tickets and I keep thinking ‘this might be our winner’, hoping I’d be able to break the news!” he exclaimed.

“When our winner came in and said she thought she had the winning ticket, I thought she was joking.

“When I scanned the ticket and saw she was telling the truth, I was thrilled.

“We are so happy it’s gone to a local and a regular customer. We wish her all the best with her win!”
