A Malvern woman is attributing her $535,000 TattsLotto win on the weekend to a special FaceTime call with her niece, which occurred moments before the winning numbers were drawn.

The Melburnian held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4391, drawn Saturday 19 August 2023 and took home a total prize of $535,054.40.

The cheery woman described her bounty as ‘music to her ears’ while celebrating the winning moment with an official from The Lott late yesterday afternoon.

“Oh, my god. I’m still in shock!” she cheered.

“Woo-hoo! It’s absolutely beautiful!

“That’s music to my ears hearing you say that back!

“My niece and I had a FaceTime call on the night that I won. They had just been to a football game and their favourite team had won.

“I told her that I had a ticket on in TattsLotto and another family member in the background said to wish me good luck, so she did.

“She’s the only one I’ve told about the win so far - we’ve always had a great relationship!

“I had one of her special numbers on the ticket as well as my beloved mum.

“I’ll definitely be sharing the prize with some family members.

“Thank you so much.”

Her winning marked 14-game entry was purchased at Malvern Lotto, 167 Glenferrie Road, Malvern.

Malvern Lotto owner Stephanie Yong said she was very excited for her division one winner and couldn’t wait to hear all the amazing things she planned to do with her prize.

“We’re all overjoyed for our division one winner and so glad to hear someone in the local community has won big thanks to our newsagency,” she said.

“We’ve started to decorate the store with balloons and posters to notify all of our customers and the local community about our special moment.

“Our customers will be thrilled to hear about our division one winning entry and they might even feel a bit luckier and buy some tickets from our store.

“We’ve sold three division one winning entries in the past six years, and our recent one was in 2020. We can imagine this is the start of a winning streak for us!

“Congratulations to the winning woman and her family. We wish her all the best with the prize, and we can’t wait to hopefully hear from her and see what plans she hopes to achieve!”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4391 on 19 August 2023 were 44, 14, 16, 24, 41 and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 21 and 30.
