A man from McKinnon was so nervously stunned by his $900,000 win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw, he spent all morning wondering if the life-enhancing news was actually true.
The Melburnian held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4589, drawn Saturday 12 July 2025. He looks forward to $919,024.03.
“I’m still in shock!” he laughed when an official from The Lott confirmed the newfound fortune this morning.
“I received a text this morning telling me to check my lottery tickets and I honestly thought it was a scam or a text about a small win.
“I hopped online and then decided to check my ticket. I couldn’t believe my eyes. All of the six winning numbers had come up!
“I started to get so nervous, and I had to call into The Lott before I could start celebrating.
“Honestly, I still don’t believe it!
“I guess I’ll have to tell my wife now. I wanted to make sure it was true before I went and told her!
“I’ve been playing the same regular set of numbers occasionally for years and years. I don’t know why I chose them in the first place.
“Lucky I didn’t change those numbers!”
With almost a million dollars headed for his bank account, the gleeful man shared a dream holiday was at the top of his wish list.
“We’ve always wanted to travel Europe but never thought it was possible,” he revealed.
“But now we can definitely go, and maybe even fly business class!”
His winning marked 12-game entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4589 on 12 July 2025 were 36, 9, 37, 35, 23 and 29, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 31.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4589 – three each in Victoria and Western Australia, and one in South Australia.
