A Melbourne mechanic is looking forward to splashing his cash on a new set of wheels after taking home a $1 million division one prize in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The Victorian man held one of three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3854, drawn Monday 25 March 2019. He takes home a division one prize of $1,000,000.
As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the newly-minted millionaire’s 12-game QuickPick entry also won division four and division five, bolstering his total prize to $1,000,038.75.
When speaking with a Tatts official this afternoon to confirm his prize, the winner couldn’t contain his glee at his good fortune and began laughing uncontrollably.
“Division one! I’m speechless! Oh god, thank you!” he laughed hysterically.
“I just checked my ticket online and saw that I had won.
“I’m just at work and thought I’d check my ticket during my lunch break.
“I can’t believe I’ve finally won division one! Oh my god!”
When asked how he planned to spend his Monday & Wednesday Lotto windfall, the joyous man confessed he’d never had a decent car despite his occupation.
“Straight away I’ll smash my mortgage!” he declared.
“I’ve never had a brand new car! That’s what I want to be honest.
“Because I am a mechanic, I love to drive but I’ve always had old cars.
“But this time I’d like to buy a brand new car for me and my wife.
“Apart from the mortgage that’s all I want to do!
“I can’t wait to tell my wife. I just want to go home and tell her we’ve won division one!”
The thrilled man also revealed he planned to continue buying lottery entries.
“I’m hoping my lucky numbers come up again!” he laughed.
“I’ve put my tickets on for tonight and for Saturday night as well!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 12-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3854 on Monday 25 March 2019 were 37, 28, 4, 23, 42 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 12 and 19.
Across Australia, there was three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3840 two from Victoria and one from New South Wales.
