Mildura woman ‘lost for words' after $1 million Monday Lotto win

A retiree from Mildura was ‘absolutely lost for words’ when she discovered she won division one in last night’s Monday Lotto draw.

The Victorian woman held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3840, drawn Monday 4 February 2019. She takes home a division one prize of $1,000,000.00.

Sharing her joy with a Tatts official this morning whilst claiming her prize, the winner couldn’t contain her disbelief at her good fortune.

“Oh my gosh! You’re not kidding are you?” she asked.

“I am absolutely lost for words!

“It’s a lot to take in.

“This is just wonderful! I love this.

“I never thought I would win. I have been playing every week for ages.

“I am shocked. Thank you very, very much.”

When she began to comprehend the news of her win, the delighted retiree shared she wanted to call her daughter straight away to begin celebrating.

“It is very exciting! I will call my daughter straight away and she will probably race straight over,” she explained.

“We will have to go out and do something to celebrate today!”

When asked how she planned to spend her prize, the Mildura woman said she would share it with those at the top of her Lotto List.

“I am very close with my children. I will be sharing it with them,” she exclaimed.

“I would love to travel to the UK. I will go travelling with my daughter or my granddaughter.

“I want to go to Scotland. It is my first choice. I have always dreamed of visiting Scotland. It will be amazing!

“I am glad I can finally do it!”

The happy woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Red Cliffs Newsagency, 42 Indi Avenue, Red Cliffs.

Red Cliffs Newsagency Kathy Glen said she was thrilled her outlet sold its first division one winning entry.

“We are very excited!” she said.

“It’s the first division one winning entry we have ever sold.

“We hope this is the start of a winning streak and we deliver more big wins to our customers.

“We are so happy for our winner and hope she enjoys life now she is a millionaire!”

In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3840 on Monday 4 February 2019 were 26, 42, 22, 6, 38 and 31, while the supplementary numbers were 8 and 23.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3840.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 228 so far this financial year, including 97 won by Tatts customers.

In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 280 division one winning TattsLotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $306.19 million.
