A Mitcham mum admitted her million-dollar Weekday Windfall win came at the perfect moment, right after she turned off the shower and heard a ‘big crack’ — giving her the ideal excuse for some much-needed renovations.
The South Australian held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4446, drawn Monday 23 September 2024. Each entry takes home $1 million.
“Thank you very much. It’s so exciting,” she said when an official from The Lott confirmed the winning news.
“I discovered it this morning at 5.10am before I went to work. I received an email about winning a major lottery prize and I went to check it online, and the first line on the ticket came up as a win.
“I said to myself, ‘hmm something is not quite right.’ I passed the ticket to my husband and asked him to check it. Then we discovered we had won; we won a million dollars!
“It’s such great news. It’s very exciting.
“I went to turn the shower off this morning, and I heard a massive crack. I said to my husband, ‘we have to complete some over-due renovations’ and then we found out about our win!
“We will use some of the prize to fix up the house and then help our kids.
“I’d love to visit Sri Lanka as well for a holiday.
“We will definitely be celebrating over a nice dinner this week as a family. Thanks for your call!”
Her winning 12-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4446 on Monday 23 September 2024 were 43, 33, 7, 23, 36 and 11, while the supplementary numbers were 3 and 21.
Across Australia, there were three division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4446 – one each in South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.
