Australian lottery game Set for Life has unveiled new game changes aimed at delivering more winners in every draw and a new fixed annuity prize for division two winners.
Set for Life is unique as it is the only lottery game to offer division one winners a fixed annuity prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years (for up to four winners in each draw).
From Set for Life draw 1691 on Monday 23 March 2020, the game’s division two winners will also receive a fixed annuity prize - $5,000 a month for a year (for up to four winners in every draw).
Since the game began in 2015, there have been 55 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who collectively won $264 million.
Other proposed changes to the game (Table 1), subject to regulatory approval, aim to deliver more overall winners in every draw by improving the chances of winning any prize.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the Set for Life game changes were based on customer research and enhanced Australia’s newest lottery game.
“Since it was first introduced almost five years ago, Set for Life has captured the imagination of Aussies dreaming of receiving a hefty $20,000 addition to their bank account every month for twenty years,” he said.
“Players told us they loved how Set for Life’s division one prize was paid in instalments over time and wanted to see this concept of a fixed annuity prize expanded.
“After 23 March, new division two winners can look forward to $5K coming their way every month for a year – that’s 12 months of enjoying that winning feeling.”
Mr Hart said he the new game changes should deliver more winners in every draw.
“We’re always looking to improve our lottery games using the feedback from our players, and these changes add exciting new dimension to Set for Life,” he said.
“By tweaking the game matrix, the chances of winning any prize has increased from 1-in-59 to 1-in-50, while the chances of winning division one has also improved.
“With these exciting changes due to arrive in about 10 weeks, Multi-week and Advance entries that include draws on or after Monday 23 March 2020 will not be available for purchase until closer to the time.”
In 2019, there were 11 Set for Life First Prize winners across Australia who will receive $52.8 million during the next 20 years. As at 31 December 2019, $29.64 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 54 Set for Life First Prize winners across Australia.
