A Moreton Bay region resident is heading into work with a smile from ear to ear today after winning more than $541,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The South-East Queensland man was one of the ten division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4277, drawn Saturday 16 July 2022 and takes home a total prize of $537,806.77.
Confirming his life-changing win with an official from The Lott, the winning man said he was still struggling to come to terms with the fact he’d won, confessing he never believed he ever would.
“I was watching the footy on Saturday night and decided to quickly check my entry while there was a break in play,” he said.
“I can tell you it turned my Saturday night upside down when I realised I’d won division one!
“I’m absolutely ecstatic. I’m just wondering how I’m going to be able to stop smiling while I work today.
“It’s going to be life-changing. I’m a young man and I’ve got the rest of my life ahead of me, so I’m going to make the most of this.
“It changes everything! I’ll continue to work, but I know now that I’ll probably be able to retire young if I’m smart.
“I also want to enjoy it, though!
“There are a few things I want to buy, and I’d love to travel and take a holiday. Then I’ll invest and just keep living my life.
“You never expect these things to happen to you. Now that it has, I’m wondering when it will sink in!”
The gleeful man’s winning System 7 QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4277 on 16 July 2022 were 23, 37, 11, 8, 19, 35, while the supplementary numbers were 42 and 34.
Across Australia, there were ten division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4277 – five in Victoria and one each in Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 245 so far this calendar year, including 56 won by Golden Casket customers.
