A Maitland man can now fulfil his childhood dreams of owning a farm after harvesting an eye-watering $15 million in a recent Oz Lotto draw.

The New South Wales resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1651 on Tuesday 7 October 2025. He pocketed the entire $15 million prize.

As the winning entry was not registered to The Lott Members Club, lottery officials had no way of contacting the winner and had to wait for him to check his ticket and come forward.

Speaking with an official from The Lott, the stunned winner confessed he only discovered the life-changing news during his weekly routine ticket check this morning.

“I can’t believe it! I don’t even know what to say. I’m having a heart attack,” he said.

“I come in every week, and I always play the same numbers. I would’ve been playing for 20-odd years now.

“This is very hard to process. I’m in so much shock, so I’m having trouble thinking straight.

“I’m so used to getting $30 or so, which I’m always happy with, but this is incredible. It’s a lot to take in.

“I really had no idea until this morning. It’s so unexpected.”

When asked about his plans for the windfall, the man shared his dream of returning to his roots.

“I’ll be able to buy a house. I’d love to buy a farmhouse. When I was younger, my parents had a farm,” he said.

“I have family members I’ll be helping as well.

“This is just wonderful. Thank you so much.”

The winning entry was purchased at Greenhills Newsagency, Shop 39, Stockland Shopping Centre, Greenhills, East Maitland.

Greenhills Newsagency team member Tiarna Perry said she was thrilled the mystery winner had been found.

“We’re so excited! Everyone had been coming in to check their tickets and seeing if the winner had come forward yet,” she said.

“It’s so amazing to see a local regular take out the win. We’re so happy for him and know how life-changing it will be.

“We initially thought the screen was freezing when we checked the ticket, but we quickly realised he was the division one winner. We couldn’t believe it!

“We’ve sold division one winning entries in the past, but this is the biggest prize so far.”

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1651 on Tuesday 7 October 2025 were 44, 46, 39, 34, 7, 15 and 3, while the supplementary numbers were 24, 19 and 13.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1651 – the one in New South Wales.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 327 so far in 2025, including 92 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

In FY25, 12 Oz Lotto division one winning across Australia collectively won more than $414 million.

During this time, the biggest Oz Lotto prize was a $100 million jackpot pocketed by an Elizabeth Hills woman in February 2025.

Of the 12 Oz Lotto division one winning entries in FY25, four landed in New South Wales, three each in Queensland Victoria, and two in South Australia.
