Almost two weeks after the draw, a Northern Beaches man has been left speechless today after discovering he is the mystery Saturday Lotto division one winner that NSW lotteries officials have been searching for.

The man’s unregistered entry was one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto Superdraw 3863, drawn on 28 July 2018. Each entry won the division one prize of $2,857,142.86.

As the winning entry was not registered to a Players Club card, NSW Lotteries had no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

When speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm his win, the Northern Beaches man initially had no idea he was a multi-millionaire.

“Oh my god, this is unbelievable!” he exclaimed.

“I am feeling really overwhelmed. This is crazy!

“I am speechless. This is going to shock my family.

“When I scanned my ticket at the newsagency, the lady told me that I needed to call you guys because I’d probably won over $1,000.

“I didn’t call for a few hours because I just assumed that my ticket wouldn’t scan because the draw was two weeks ago.

“When I called, I certainly didn’t think I was a multi-millionaire.

“I never thought I would win this much money, so I am completely shocked.

“Thank you so much. This is a phone call I will never forget.”

When asked how he planned to spend his Lotto windfall, the happy Sydney man declared he would share his win with those special people on his Lotto List.

“I definitely want to help my kids out, that’s the main thing. It will set them up for the rest of their lives, which is excellent,” he revealed.

“I will need to talk to my wife, but we have been wanting to get one of those really fancy caravans to travel around Australia in, but we have never been able to afford it. Well now we can!

“It might also speed up our retirement. It means that we can really enjoy life now!”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Newsagency on 5, Shop 5002, Westfield Shopping Town, 157 Church Street, Parramatta.

Newsagency on 5 owner Raj Garg said he was thrilled the winner had been united with his prize.

“There was a lot of hype in store. Everyone was hoping they were the winner of the division one prize,” he said.

“I was also really excited and was hoping the winner would come forward soon!

“I am glad the winner has been united with his prize. It must be so exciting for him.

“Hopefully we have some more wins soon.”
