Lottery officials are encouraging Launceston residents and visitors to check their TattsLotto tickets after a mystery player scored a phenomenal $2.5 million in the weekend’s draw.
The Tasmanian winner held one of the eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4605 on Saturday 6 September 2025. Each division one winning entry scored $2.5 million.
So far this year, Tasmania has witnessed 11 division one wins collectively worth more than $13 million. Five of these wins have been in Launceston.
If the latest winner had been part of The Lott Members Club and registered their ticket to a player card or online account, they would have already been alerted to their good fortune.
Instead, officials from The Lott are eagerly waiting for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward.
The winning entry was purchased at Racecourse Newsagency & Gifts, Shop 4, Centro Launceston Shopping Centre, 15 Racecourse Crescent, Launceston.
Racecourse Newsagency & Gifts owner Kristy Bannister said she was thrilled her outlet had sold its first division one winning entry since she took over ownership last November.
“I was so excited when I received the email from The Lott on Saturday night saying we had sold a division one winning entry. I jumped off my couch at home in disbelief,” she said.
“It makes our job worth every minute knowing how many lives we can change.
We will definitely be cracking open the champagne to celebrate our winner.
“We wish our winner all the happiness in the world, and we thank you for your support of our small family-run business. Enjoy your winnings with your loved ones.”
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the elusive winner was most likely starting the working week with no idea they’d pocketed a whopping $2.5 million in the weekend’s draw.
“While we’ve been unable to confirm the life-changing news with Tasmania’s newest multi-millionaire, we’re sure that when they check their ticket and discover their news, they’ll be jumping for joy,” he said.
“We’re encouraging anybody who purchased a TattsLotto ticket from Racecourse Newsagency & Gifts to check their ticket as soon as possible.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4605 on 6 September 2025 were 43, 6, 21, 10, 42 and 16, while the supplementary numbers were 23 and 36.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4605 – three each in New South Wales and Victoria, and one each in Queensland and Tasmania.
