The hunt is on for the winner of last night’s entire $55 million Powerball jackpot prize, with Tatts narrowing the search to the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Earlier this morning Tatts revealed a Victorian entry had won the out-of-the-world Powerball prize but with still no sign of the mystery winner this morning, the region the entry was sold has now been revealed.
The entry, purchased at a Tatts outlet in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, was not registered to a Tatts Card so the identity of the new multi-millionaire remains a mystery.
It was the only winning entry in last night’s Powerball draw 1130 on Thursday 11 January 2018, which offered a $55 million jackpot – the highest Australian lottery jackpot in 12 months.
Tatts is urging all Melbourne residents and visitors who purchased an entry in last night’s Powerball draw to check their tickets.
Melbourne’s northern suburbs are no stranger to Powerball wins. In November last year, a semi-retired couple from Mill Park had their lives changed forever when they won a $6 million division one Powerball Prize.
Tatts spokesperson Bronnie Spencer said she urged anyone who purchased an entry in last night’s Powerball draw from Melbourne’s northern suburbs to check their tickets.
“With $55 million up for grabs, last night’s Powerball draw was one of the most hotly anticipated draws of recent years and one Melbourne player won it all!” she said.
“We can’t wait to confirm the out-of-this-world prize with our mystery winner! Just imagine how $55 million might change your life and the lives of your nearest and dearest.
“There are 55 million reasons why all players in Melbourne’s northern suburbs who had an entry in last night’s draw should check their ticket this morning.
“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket and phone 131 868 as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process!”
Tatts reminds players of the importance of registering their tickets to a Tatts Card so all of their prizes are secure and they can be contacted directly with the good news of a big win.
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1130 on Thursday 11 January 2018 were 32, 7, 5, 34, 38 and 11, while the all-important Powerball number was 12.
