The hunt is over for an Emerald couple who scooped up a $2.5 million Saturday Gold Lotto division one win over the weekend, with the wife delivering a reaction they’ll be talking about for years to come.
The Central Queenslanders held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4675, drawn Saturday 9 May 2026. They can look forward to a total prize of $2,500,000.
The winning entry was not registered to The Lott Members Club meaning officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the ticketholders and had to wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.
The delighted husband relayed how the duo discovered the win when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“We don’t believe it!” he laughed.
“I asked my wife to check our Gold Lotto ticket because I’m hopeless with computers.
“She kept saying, ‘Yeah, don’t worry I’ll do it!’ but then a few days passed and I asked her again, ‘Can you please check the ticket?’. She then again said she was busy.
“Then finally, she sat down at the dining table to scan the ticket.
“The next thing I knew, she threw her phone down and yelled, ‘Is this real?’. She almost had a heart attack!
“I was in complete disbelief when I looked at it; it’s something we’ve always prayed for!
“We’re very happy. It’s awesome news which still hasn’t hit me yet.
“It’s completely life-changing.”
While the couple were still coming to terms with the exciting news, they already knew exactly how they wanted to use their windfall.
‘Honestly, we wouldn’t mind a new car!” he exclaimed.
Their winning entry was purchased at newsXpress Central Highlands, Shop 26, Central Highlands Market Place, 2-10 Codenwarra Road, Emerald.
newsXpress Central Highlands owner Subrahmayam Mada said he was celebrating selling his first division one winning entry in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4675 on 9 May 2026 were 12, 11, 2, 33, 37 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 36 and 41.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4675 – three in Queensland, two in New South Wales and one each in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Tasmania.
