A single mum was both shocked and overjoyed when constant nagging from a family member led to the discovery she was more than $400,000 richer!
The delighted winner held one of the ten division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 3877 on 15 September 2018. Each taking home a division one prize of $408,233.51.
When speaking with a NSW Lotteries official to confirm the win, the winner explained how she learned of her life-changing windfall.
“One of my family members wouldn’t leave me alone until I checked my ticket,” she said.
“They’d been telling me all week to check it.
“I finally got the ticket out today and as soon as they looked at it, they said ‘You’ve got it!’
“I didn’t quite believe it, so we checked the ticket against the numbers in the local paper, and sure enough, they were all there!”
While the news of her win is still sinking in, the single mum thinks she will use the prize to buy a house — somewhere she and her kids can call their very own.
In addition to winning division one, the delighted mum also won a division five prize, bringing her total windfall to $408,255.96.
The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning ticket at Warialda Newsagency, 58-60 Hope Street, Warialda.
Warialda Newsagency owner Martin Bell said he was thrilled to have sold a division one winning entry.
“I am so pleased that our winner has discovered they are now over $408,000 richer!” he exclaimed.
“We had been hoping they would come forward soon so we are relieved they have been united with their prize and they can start to enjoy it!
“We hope it is the start of many wins for our customers!”
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 134 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3877 on Saturday 15 September 2018 were 3, 7, 15, 44, 45 and 1, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 34.
Across Australia there were ten division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3877 – four from Queensland, three from Victoria, two from New South Wales, and one from Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 291 so far this calendar year, including 78 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Last financial year, there were 290 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $302.7 million.
