A Newtown man went to bed last night dreaming of one day owning a Landrover Defender, and this morning discovered that dream might now become a reality after he became an overnight Lotto millionaire.
The Sydney man in his 40s held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4107, drawn Wednesday 25 August 2021. He scored the division one prize of $1 million.
When an official from The Lott reached out to the winning man this morning with the life-changing news, he burst out laughing.
“This is unbelievable!” he screamed.
“This has come at such a good time as I’ve been worried about my job lately.
“I’m very happy, extremely happy.
“It’s the weirdest thing. Last night I was looking at Landrover Defenders – they’re my favourite car. I never do that. And now this!
“I think I’ll pay off the mortgage first, but after that… who knows?
“This ticket was pretty much a one-off. I’ve never really played Monday & Wednesday Lotto before!
“I had a small win on a Powerball ticket last week, and I was going to use that to play on Monday, but I ended up getting a QuickPick into last night’s draw instead.
“It was totally off the cuff!
“This is the best morning phone call I’ve ever had.”
His winning 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4107 on Wednesday 25 August 2021 were 27, 28, 23, 22, 8 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 37 and 40.
