New real Set for Life division one winner’s call here
Mondays might have many Aussies dreading the start of another working week, but for some, it’s proven to be the best day of their lives, with more Set for Life division one winners crowned on this day than any other.
While a Set for Life draw is held every night of the week, research by The Lott shows some days have a better track record of delivering division one wins.
Set for Life is the only Australian lottery game that offers a division one prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years, a total of $4.8 million, for up to four winners in each draw.
Since its launch 10 years ago in 2015, Set for Life has awarded 158 Australians the life-altering division one prize, collectively delivering more than $166 million in prize money already paid in monthly instalments.
Of these players, almost a quarter (23%) scored their division one prize on a Monday – almost double that of Thursday, the day with the least number of division one wins.
Another 17% of division one winners won on a Sunday.

The most recent Set for Life winner was a Seaford Rise man who celebrated his division one win with a calming chai tea and the company of his beloved cat, who was already soaking up the royal treatment.
Amazingly, the successful South Australian bagged his bounty on a Monday, and held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 3602, drawn 16 June 2025.
The newly-crowned multi-millionaire has already started to receive his monthly instalments of $20,000 for the next 20 years.
When an official from The Lott called to confirm the news, the winner shared that he had checked his ticket while on the phone with his mum, making it an incredibly special and unforgettable moment for them both.
“Mum and I always put a ticket on, and we were actually on the phone last night around 8:30pm,” he said.
“I was just saying goodnight when she said, ‘Hang on, let’s check our Set for Life tickets.’.
“She had no win, then I opened my app and just went ‘Holy sh**!’. It was so surreal. I felt like I was having a heart attack!
“I’m having a chai now to calm my nerves.
“It’s all hitting me. It’s completely life-changing. I’m getting emotional, but don’t worry, it’s happy tears.
“Family is everything to me. Of course, my beautiful cat won’t be left out! She already gets the princess treatment, but now she’ll be even more spoiled.”
While Set for Life division one wins could land anywhere and at any time, The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre said it was interesting to see the game’s winning trends that had emerged during the past decade.
“As we mark 10 years of Set for Life, it’s incredible to think of the lives that have been transformed, not just with a one-off prize, but with the security and freedom of a monthly bank account boost over two decades,” she said.
“Surprisingly, Monday has taken the lead, with nearly a quarter of all division one wins occurring at the start of the work week.
“From all around Australia, we’ve seen 158 winners who experienced the indescribable thrill of being crowned a division one winner in Set for Life, and the best thing is they get to feel that every month for another 20 years.
“Only time will tell if these winning trends continue. Will our next winner score that division prize one prize on a Monday, and will they be from one of our top winning states?
“One thing is for sure, no matter who takes home that prize, they will enjoy the freedom of being truly Set for Life!”
