A North Melbourne woman can’t wait to see the joy on her daughter's face when they embark on a magical journey to Disneyland, made possible by her $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its top prize win.

The Melburnian’s winning $5 $100 Grand Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Vic Market Lotto, 82 Therry Street, Melbourne.

The chirpy mum raced straight down to the newsagency after checking her ticket to see if the winning news was real.

“I couldn’t believe my luck!” she laughed.

“I was speechless when I found out the news. Things like this don’t happen to people like me.

“I ran straight down to The Lott store, and I said to the team member, ‘I need you to check this ticket’, and he couldn’t believe it himself.

“I don’t play often – maybe once or twice a month. I was walking through the market, and I had a sweet tooth craving and decided to pop into the newsagency to buy a lollipop.

“I ended up leaving without the lollipop and ended up with these Instant Scratch-Its tickets instead.

“It was fate!”

As well as taking her daughter on a trip of a lifetime with the windfall, the seasonal player shared she would get her teeth ‘fixed’ and put money away for the future.

“I’ll be looking to fix my teeth and put money away for my daughter. It will be a huge help,” she revealed.

“It was 100 years of Walt Disney last year and I believe there will be some sort of celebration for it.

“It’s so exciting.”

Vic Market Lotto owner Dora Vuong said she was “absolutely thrilled” to hear her outlet had sold another top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its.

“The last time we sold a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was a $5 Crosswords ticket in September last year. So, it feels like we are on a roll selling top prizes in a new location kiosk,” she said.

“We will celebrate with balloons and big signage in our store.

"Congratulations to our winner and wish you all the best. I hope you really enjoy the prize. Thank you to all our loyal customers and hope a lot more winning news comes our way."

In 2023, there were 144 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $12.1 million in top prizes.

During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 26.76 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $249.17 million. This equates to more than half a million winners a week and about $700,000 won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
