There are no more Monday blues for a Northfield Keno player today after they kick-started their week with a major prize win, scoring $50,000 in a Keno Spot 8 draw this afternoon.
The South Australian held a Keno Spot 8 winning entry in draw 2658192 on Monday 24 August 2020 and takes home $50,000.
However, how the winner plans to enjoy their Keno windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The happy winner purchased their winning Keno Spot 8 entry at Grand North, 737 Grand Junction Road, Northfield.
Grand North Manager Tanya Hubbard said the whole team were celebrating selling their biggest ever Keno prize.
“It’s awesome! Wahoo! We are so excited!” she exclaimed.
“We saw it come up on the screen and everyone was celebrating. The customer left right away to claim their prize so they can begin to enjoy it.
“This is the biggest prize we’ve ever sold. The last one was only $10,000, and it was years and years ago, so it’s great to have another one to celebrate.
“We are so happy it has been won by a regular customer and a lovely person.
“They really deserve it, and we wish them all the best!”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said that there is no doubt that Keno’s newest major prize winner started the week with a spring in their step.
“While we don’t know how our winner is going to enjoy their prize, what we do know is they’ll be wearing a smile knowing their bank account is about to balloon by a few extra zeros!” she exclaimed.
“Other winners tell us they use their windfall to buy a new car, plan a long-dreamt of holiday around Australia or upgrade their homes with renovations.
“However our winner plans to use their prize, we are sure they will enjoy every moment!”
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 28 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $4.46 million. The Spot 10 prize was won twice during this time – a win worth more than $1.66 million was won by a Whyalla player in December 2019, and a prize of more than $1.3 million was won by a Croydon Park man in February 2020.
Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
