A Tweed Heads woman has wrapped up her workday with the unexpected news she’d scored $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw.

The northern New South Wales local held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10862 drawn Monday 22 July 2024.

The winning woman had just gotten home from a long day of work when she noticed she had received multiple missed calls from an unknown number.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! No way!” she gasped when an official from The Lott revealed her prize.

“I literally just walked in my front door right as you called. I saw I had a few missed calls from this number, but I’ve been at work all day and unable to look at my phone.

“This is not the phone call I was expecting.

“This is amazing! This is the best news I’ve received in a long time.

“My whole body has gone numb. I’m so pleased! You have no idea!”

When asked how she planned to use her surprise loot, the hard-working woman was overwhelmed with emotions.

“I’m finding it hard to think if I’m honest,” she shared.

“I have no idea what I’ll do with the prize. I have lots of dreams in my head – maybe now I’ll start to chase some of them.

“I’ve got long shifts at work for the rest of the week, but I’ll certainly have to do something to celebrate on the weekend.”

Her winning entry of three random numbers was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.48 million for draw 1684, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now over $2.97 million for draw 10863.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Weekday WindfallPowerballOz LottoSet for LifeLucky LotteriesKeno (SA)Super 66Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
