A Numurkah man had declared he plans to celebrate an extra special New Years Eve tonight after discovering he holds a winning entry worth $1.7 million from Saturday’s TattsLotto $30 million Megadraw.
The overjoyed winner held one of the 17 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3907, drawn Saturday 29 December 2018. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $1,764,705.89.
The ticket was unregistered, so Tatts officials had no way of contacting the winner with the life-changing news and had to wait for him to come forward today to claim his prize.
When speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm his win, the shocked winner revealed he had discovered the life changing news yesterday.
“I checked the ticket on the app yesterday morning, but figured because it was Sunday I’d wait to get it confirmed,” he explained.
“I told my family I had won division one but no one believed me! Now they will!
“I don’t know what I’ll do yet! Probably have a few drinks to celebrate tonight!”
When asked how it felt to be a newly-minted millionaire ahead of the new year, the happy winner confessed he was still getting his head around the news.
“It’s all still sinking in. It is a bit surreal at the moment. I’m not really sure how I feel!” he laughed.
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Elmore Newsagency, 46 Railway Place, Elmore.
Elmore Newsagency owner Diane Chandler said she was thrilled to have sold a division one winning entry.
“What fantastic news!” she exclaimed.
“It has created a bit of a buzz around town. We found out we had sold the division one winning entry as with one of our locals called to tell us we had sold a division one too.
“We are so happy for our winner! We wish them all the best with their prize!”
